R-22 Price Increases

As some of you may know R-22 commonly called freon, has been on phase out schedule since 1993. This is the most common refrigerant in home air conditioners over the past 60 years. It has been increasing in price steadily since the phase out began.  Like any commodity when there is less produced the more it costs. Recently the phase out was accelerated, the price increased by 200% in one day and we are not sure where it might end. I have heard rumors of 700% to 800% increases. Bottom line if your still using R-22 air conditioning brace yourself if you wish to stay cool.

Care of your home

If I could do something for you that would lower your electric bill sometimes significantly, would you be interested? There are studies that have been done that show impressive utility savings from simply having yearly routine maintenance on your furnace and air conditioner. It will also improve indoor air quality, help prevent the possibility of breakdown at the most inopportune time like extreme temperatures or weekends. There are also times that lack of maintenance can cause property damage. In the unfortunate event when a drain pan overflows which can cause host of more serious issues.
